Suffolk (Long Island) police and its Crime Stoppers unit are looking for a man and a woman involved with stolen credit cards in two incidents.

On Tuesday, Feb. 21, an East Islip resident was at Gardiner Park in Bay Shore when someone stole credit cards from her purse. The woman was unaware of the theft until she left the park and was notified by some of her card companies that excessive charges were made.

Purchases made in New York City included a $3,300 Cartier watch from Bergdorf Goodman and a handbag at Coach for $790. The credit cards also were used on Long Island. One purchase was for a $480 camera at Comp USA in Hauppauge and another for $325 worth of gift cards at Stop & Shop in East Northport.

While police are not sure who stole the cards, they were used by a woman described as in her 30s, 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-6, with a medium build.
